AP European History Review Board Collection
A short guide to unpacking the ten-game collection, choosing the right files and preparing to play.
Download the one-page quick-start (PDF)1. Unpack the collection, then a game
- Save the collection ZIP. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. On a Mac, double-click it.
- Open the AP European History folder. Choose the game ZIP you want, then extract it into its own folder.
- Keep each game in a separate folder: directions and score sheets use the same filenames. Keep the originals and edit a working copy.
2. Choose files and print what you need
Each game has six files: the PPTX/PDF game, DOCX/PDF directions and DOCX/PDF score sheet.
- PPTX · Edit and present
- The game slides are in the file ending in Review Board.pptx. Use presentation mode to try the linked board, clue, answer and return route.
- PDF · View or print
- The Review Board.pdf is the fixed-page slide copy. It is separate from the editable PPTX and does not update when you edit that file. Supplied companion PDFs also stay unchanged after DOCX edits. If you export a new PDF, review its pages and any links.
- DOCX / PDF · Directions
- How to Run This Review Game explains the play sequence. Use DOCX to edit the text or PDF for the supplied page layout.
- DOCX / PDF · Manual scores
- Team Score Sheet provides a table for running totals. Use DOCX to edit the sheet or PDF to view and print it.
The inspected original Unit 1 PDFs have no clickable link annotations or fillable fields. Treat the PDFs as fixed-page reading/printing copies; do not expect the PPTX game interaction or editable objects in them.
- Open Team Score Sheet.pdf for a paper tally, How to Run This Review Game.pdf for directions, or the chosen Review Board.pdf for game pages. Confirm the game title inside the file.
- Open your PDF app's Print dialog. Select only the pages you need, confirm the copy count and review the preview before sending the job.
- Choose the paper loaded in your printer and check orientation and scaling in the preview. If text or the score table is cut off, try a fit-to-page option and recheck the selected pages. Keep the text readable.
In the inspected original Unit 1 sample, the score-sheet PDF is 1 page, the directions PDF is 7 pages and the game PDF is 62 wide pages. Page counts and print layouts for the other games were not checked here. Physical printer output has not been tested.
3. Rehearse and score manually
- Read How to Run This Review Game before presenting.
- Open a working copy of the PPTX. In PowerPoint for Windows, use Slide Show > From Beginning; on Mac, use Slide Show > Play from Start.
- Try a board value, reveal the answer and return to the board. Try another category and the Final Round route before teaching.
- Decide and explain your scoring rule before the first clue. Keep scores on the Team Score Sheet or your own manual tally. Mark played clues yourself; automatic scoring and used-tile marking are not provided by the downloaded files.
- Edit clue and answer text in place; preserve slide order and navigation buttons. Then save, close, reopen and retest the edited route. Check text size on the audience display.
The free Unit 1 browser preview is separate from the paid download. Its scores do not transfer to PPTX, PDF or DOCX files.
4. Check your app before teaching
PPTX is the supplied editable presentation format. Desktop PowerPoint is a sensible starting route, but this collection has not been certified by direct open/play/edit/save/reopen testing in any app/version. Software is not included.
Google documents Office-file editing, but conversion or editing can change features. Use existing permitted app access and a working copy. Recheck layout, links, reveals and saved files before teaching. Google Slides/Docs, web PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice and mobile/Chromebook operation are not certified for this collection.

Reading and accessibility options
If the PDF is difficult to read, try this HTML help page. Use your browser’s zoom to enlarge the text and the section links to move through the guide. If your screen reader supports heading navigation, use the page headings.
For the PPTX and DOCX files, check the accessibility options documented for your app/version on a working copy before use. Keyboard and screen-reader behavior of this help and the game files has not been verified.
File not opening or behaving as expected?
- I cannot find the files or still see ZIPs.
- If you are looking inside the collection ZIP or a game ZIP, finish both extraction steps above. Open the extracted game's folder and look for the six files listed in the file guidance above.
- A PPTX button selects an object or does not follow the game route.
- If you are in editing view, start Slide Show using the presentation steps above, then try one board, clue, answer and return route. If it still fails, note the button and what happens.
- My PDF does not show my edits.
- Check the saved PPTX or DOCX working copy. The supplied PDF is separate and does not update when that working copy is edited.
- A file will not open or import.
- If you selected a ZIP, extract the game first and select an individual file. Match its extension to the file guidance above. If the error remains, use the help details below.
5. Recover order access
After successful payment, follow the access instructions on your order confirmation page or in your delivery email. Check spam or junk if the email is missing.
If access or a file step still fails, email the product title, an order reference if available, the step tried and what happened. Include any error text with private URLs and personal information removed. For a file problem, add the game/unit and file extension; include the device/operating system and app/version if relevant. Do not forward a private download link. If payment is uncertain, ask for help before purchasing again.
Please leave out passwords, payment-card details, complete download links, student work, and private school or family information.
6. Ask about sharing or a purchase issue
Editable formats and sharing permissions are separate. Contact the Macs with the product title and intended use to clarify the applicable permissions before sharing or posting files. This guide does not grant a seat, sharing, resale or transfer license.
For duplicate charges, wrong files, access problems or refund questions, use the published delivery and refund policy. The guide adds no refund guarantee or new deadline and does not limit rights that apply under law.
